Tolplan performed the conceptual and detail design, tender documentation as well as the rollout supervision of the Toll Systems of the Gauteng Open Road Tolling (ORT) Project.  This project is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The system includes a Road Side System with 42 Tolling Points (Gantries) and an ORT Back Office System for automated transaction record administration and processing. A national Transaction Clearing House is used for central account management of all customer accounts, regardless of which toll authority’s road is used. 

The national Violation Processing Centre is responsible for the processing and collection of unpaid toll fees and customer accounts.
